Privacy policy
Last updated: 5 September 2026
This policy explains what personal data we collect through this website, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it. See also our terms and conditions.
1. Who we are
Scorpion AI Tooling Ltd ("Scorpion", "we", "us", "our") is the data controller for the personal data described here. We are registered in England and Wales under company number 17336409, with our registered office at 15 Snowgoose Way, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, ST5 2GA, United Kingdom. Our registration with the Information Commissioner's Office is ZC177817. You can contact us at hello@scorpionaitooling.uk.
Scorpion AI Software and Scorpion AI Tooling are trading brands of the same company. This policy covers this website. The sister website has its own policy covering the client portal and marketing preference records, which do not exist here.
2. What we collect, and why
Enquiries. This website has no contact form. You reach us by email or telephone, and we hold whatever you choose to tell us for as long as it takes to deal with your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you get back in touch.
Business contact details we look up ourselves. Before approaching a business that has not contacted us first, we sometimes take publicly available business contact details from that company's own website or from a public register such as Companies House. What we hold is limited to business contact information: the company name, a business email address or telephone number, a website address, and where it is published, the name and role of a named contact. We rely on legitimate interests for this. You can object at any time and we will stop and delete what we hold, either by emailing hello@scorpionaitooling.uk or by replying OUT to any email we send you.
Project work. Once you become a client, any personal data involved in the work itself is dealt with in the agreement between us, including a data processing agreement where we act as processor rather than controller. That is settled before the work starts rather than afterwards.
3. Our legal basis
We rely on legitimate interests to respond to enquiries you send us and to make an initial approach to a business using published business contact details, and on the performance of a contract, or steps taken to enter one, once you become a client.
4. Who we share it with
This website is hosted by Netlify, which serves the pages and keeps standard server logs. Our email provider hosts the mailbox we use for business correspondence, so anything you send us by email is stored there. Both act on our behalf under written terms limiting them to our instructions.
Some providers process data on infrastructure located outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens, the transfer is made under the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. You can ask us which safeguard applies to a particular provider.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with anyone for marketing purposes.
5. Cookies and local storage
We run no analytics and no advertising cookies on this website. Your browser's local storage is used for one thing: remembering whether you chose the light or dark version of the website, so it looks the same when you come back. It is not used to track you anywhere. It does not ask for your consent, because it exists only to provide something you have actively asked for, which is the exemption UK cookie rules allow for storage that is strictly necessary.
6. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to confirm what personal data we hold about you, correct it if it is inaccurate, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or provide it to you in a portable format. To exercise any of these, email hello@scorpionaitooling.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, though we would appreciate the chance to put things right directly first.
7. Children's data
This website and our services are aimed at businesses, not children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the data described here. Credentials for the systems we run are held in a managed store rather than in source code or in shipped software.
9. Changes
We may update this policy as our tools or providers change. The version published here is the one that applies.
