A one-off licence, quoted on the size of the organisation taking it. Ongoing support covering hazard library updates is optional and priced separately, never bundled in to inflate the headline.
What it does
- Per-job risk assessment scored on a five by five matrix, with initial and residual ratings recorded separately.
- Method statement written in the order the work actually happens.
- PPE, plant and COSHH schedules attached to the job.
- Approval by a named competent person, with issue and revision control.
- Seeded libraries covering plumbing and heating, steel fabrication and erection, electrical, general building and a common set: 55 hazards, 71 PPE and plant items, 33 COSHH substances.
- Output as a Word document plus PDF/A at conformance level A, tagged and accessible, carrying no Scorpion branding.
Limits worth knowing
- PDF export drives Microsoft Word, so Word is a system requirement. This is a deliberate trade: it guarantees the PDF and the .docx are the same document.
- Sold and delivered by arrangement rather than as a self-serve download. Windows code signing and licence activation are not in place yet.
Design decisions
How it is built
The decisions below cost more to build than the obvious alternative. They are the reason the tool holds up in use, so they are worth reading before you compare it against something cheaper.
A model cannot sign a safety document
Approving and issuing a RAMS are not reachable through the software’s AI interface at all. A named competent person does it in the application. That is a deliberate design constraint, because the regulations put a person’s name on the assessment and it needs to mean something.
Approval is refused when the assessment is not ready
The software will not let a job be approved while any residual risk sits in the top band, or while every hazard is still carrying unedited library wording. A generic assessment fails the "suitable and sufficient" test in regulation 3 of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, so the software declines to produce one.
An issued document cannot be rewritten by a later edit
Library entries are copied onto a job rather than referenced. Editing the library afterwards cannot change a document that has already been issued, which is what you need when an issued revision has to stand up months later.
